Please bear with me as I am not very technically minded and I have tried to find out the information I need but am very confused and am hoping some kind person can help:D
I have an iphone I want to give to my daughter- she currently has one that is damaged. I have requested the phone to be unlocked from vodaphone and had an email to say this has been done and to log into itunes to connect to itunes or perform a software restore via itunes.
My question is- do I clear my iphone of all it's data before I do this? If so do I clear all it's data, put in daughters sim from her old phone ( the one we want to use in my old phone)I don't need to back it up as I have already set up my new phone so don't need to save anything that's already on it.
Or do I leave all my data/ settings on phone and re-set it after we have put new sim in and connected it to itunes?
My daughter has already backed her old phone up via icloud and should be able to get everything back onto the new phone ( my old one) via icloud shouldn't she?
I hope I have explained this properly and people don't think I am too lazy to find out the information myself- I have tried and think I understand but don't want to mess everything up
Thanks in advance for any help:p

reset the phone first then connect to itunes to unlock would be easierEx forum ambassador

"Restoring" your phone will wipe it so no need to remove your stuffFriendly greeting!0

Unlocking and the phone content are two separate things.
You can backup and wipe your phone and then unlock it.
Or you can unlock your phone and then back it up and wipe it.
If you have a backup of a phone, you can restore it onto that phone or another one.
I would advise copying photos off it though; I managed to lose a load of them when I swapped a phone, which became faulty, for a new one; somehow the pics weren't there anymore.0
