    Sorry, I think the, roughly, 3 hour drive each way would take the shine off the saving. Remember though to shop around, in these straitened times, the repairmen know they are competing against punters just swapping bits at the scrapyard.

    The last similar repair I had done the guy stitch welded it (to me it was just a high rated soldering iron), rubbed it down, filler, rubbed down again, knifing putty, rubbed down, base/colour/lacquer blend over the top and all for £25. Almost indistinguishable from the rest of the bumper and under an hour.
    lol not that kind of repair!
    i meant with a plastic welder most motor bike repairers will have one
