Question for the EON rep if possible
My account with EON has been in credit at billing time for the past 3 quarters bills. Upon advice in my diary I went into my account and tried to change the DD and it actually increased it from £55 to £57.
Today I have submitted my readings and have received a bill to say we are still in credit by £132.20. And my DD going forward has increased. As we are going to use less and less gas and electricity now is it possible to reclaim some if not all of my credit?

Hi LAM2011
If the account is billed up to the latest meter readings then, yes, you can have part or all of any remaining credit refunded.
Thought it might help if I gave you a bit of background about how our Monthly Direct Debits work.
With this type of payment arrangement, the aim is to achieve as near to a zero balance as possible by the time of the annual review. To do this, we review arrangements each quarter.
At two of these reviews, we'll only advise if we think the monthly payments need to change. We'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not you want to act on this advice. It's only at the mid-term and annual reviews where we'll make any necessary adjustments. We'll let you know in advance of any proposed changes.
Reviews are based on current prices and usage over the past 12 months. If either changes, so will the payments.
We aim to help customers spread their energy spending over 12 months and to keep accounts from running up arrears. At certain times, I'd expect there to be a credit balance on accounts.
At the annual review, any credit balance over a fiver will automatically be refunded.
Taking refunds part way through a 12 month arrangement will probably cause the Direct Debit to increase at the next review. This is because there may not be sufficient funds in the account to cover the anticipated usage up to the annual review.
If circumstances change, you can use the Direct Debit Manager on our website to alter payments to suit. Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, you can change the payments by up to 20 per cent up or down. Up to 5 per cent up or down without readings.
I suspect the increased Direct Debit you're seeing is based on usage over the past 12 months. This is probably not taking into consideration your changed circumstances.
Hope this helps.
