Taking advantage of bank switching incentive using an inactive account.

  • Thank you to Archi Bald, RE: Santander, I hadn't realized that the condition for importing 2 existing direct debits had been waived since I switched to them and yes, they do currently just insist that two are set up on the new account. RE: Halifax, no I didn't supply my pension provider's details so I obviously tripped myself up there.
    As YorkshirBoy pointed out Santander doesn't offer a switching incentive directly but both TCB and Quidco have links which do.
    The Cooperative Bank are now offering 100 pounds + 25 charitable donation for a switch to them and do stipulate that at least 2 active direct debits or standing orders exist on the account being switched from.
