Npower credit
Good morning, this is my first post on these forums and would like some advice,I'm in the process of switching provider as I have used the energy club to find a better deal,I logged into my npower account for the first time ever and it says I have £1230 credit so when I rang them up to have it payed back to me the lady I spoke with pointed out it was a mistake on their end and it was only 300 in credit, which is still nice but my question is,is she just trying to fob me off or not,I hope that someone could give me some advice please
Cheers,

If you look in the billing and payments section of your inline account, you should be able to see all the payments and credits that have been added to your account. If you can do that then you should know whether or not you are so far in credit.
Also I would say that being an N Power customer, you are possibly among the thousands/hundreds of thousands that has not had a bill for a long time, typically about a year?
If that is the case all the payments you have made will have accrued on your account but no charges come off it, which could explain things somewhat.
When did you last get a bill from N Power?
Do you pay by DD, if so how much?
How much have you paid in DD's since the last bill?
Are there other credits on your account, if so what are they for?
If you can answer these questions, you will probably get a bit more help and advice on what to do next.0 -
We pay by DD which is £89 per month,as for the last bill,I know this will not be any help but I honestly don't know,it's only recently that we're getting our finances sorted,it's just me and my wife and we only have electricity as our house has no gas,we are looking into underfloor heating ATM and have only had one electric heater in the whole house which hasn't been on very much as were accustomed to the cold,no other credits on the account that I can see,

Based on your DD amount and the credit sounds like you've not had a bill for over a year, so you need to look at the "Back Billing Policy".
You need a bill producing to tell exactly how much credit you have, you may want to do this yourself as it will be quicker than nPower sending you one in all probability.
People on here can help with that if you can give the details of consumption etc.
By the way, underfloor heating can be very expensive to run so do your homework first!Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
Cheers for that,we have been looking into the underfloor heating and as we have no gas in our property at present it seems total cost of Central heating installed is a lot so the underfloor heating option appealed as we wouldn't have to redecorate the whole house and we will be moving on in 3 or 4 years0
