Good Morning All
Having a slow start this morning - not sure why
We are lucky here - rained most of the night but now we have bright sunshine :j
Todays plans, get showered and dressed sometime in the near future, spend sometime in my office, take DD & OH (no work) out for lunch as DD is home from uni.
As having lunch out with have a easy dinner tonight.
Thats it, have a great day all :)x0 -
Hi everyone,
I wonder how DH is getting on with the tube strike.
I had a low key day yesterday, feeling very down and tired. I'm still tired today but I must do some housework, I'm sure if the place is looking sparkly it will make me feel better. My sis-in-law cleans her house from top to bottom before 7am every day, she loves cleaning, I hate it.
I also want to get back in the swing of my sewing.
Julie, I hope you feel better soon. My favourite Aunt is having her knees replaced soon, in Wrightington hospital - the place they pioneered joint replacement - so I'll be interested to see how she gets along.0 -
Morning all,
we still have a roof on the garage :T It was WILD last night, and still sounds like lions outside even now.
DH has a scan today, his one year check up, then weigh in at SW tonight. My halo is positively dazzling but I'm still being extra careful, I need to get into the swing of it.
We booked a holiday last night. I was shaking as I pressed the button 'send', but it's done, we're going next month. A sort of retirement/recovery/thank-God-that-awful-18-months-is-over celebration. I blame the wind
Hugs all round, and hold onto your brollies or you'll do a Mary Poppins xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all,
Done all the necessary chores this morning, might make a cake/cakes in a little while, if I can be bothered.
I have almost lost my voice with all the coughing, I sound like a male teen whose voice is breaking
Both DH and DS2 have bad colds, when will we ever be completely without symptoms? It's a bit like wondering if the rain and wind will go away completely.
Luxor - Where are you off to?
Have a good day everyone and keep well.0 -
Good morning All
We had a very windy night . It's bin day today so we had to put them out yesterday evening as the binmen sometimes arrive very early. My neighbour's brown bin-the one for paper, cans and plastics-was blown over during the evening so the contents were blowing everywhere. I spent the night listening to the wind and hoping that our bins would be alright.Of course today the lorry didn't arrive until after 9 a.m so could have put them out this morning!
No rain yet but it's forecast so plan to stay in and do some baking for the freezer-bread, pizza and a date, walnut and lemon slice. I've made some pastry too so will use up the last of the Christmas mincemeat and then freeze the rest of the pastry. I'll put a casserole in the bottom of the oven and there's some milk to use up before it goes off so will make pancakes.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
Morning all,
had a lovely sunny walk with the pup earlier but its gone right off now,the windowcleaner has just finished and its started to pour down, typical!
Had a lovely tea last night for DS1s birthday-he requested shepherds pie(easily pleased) & DS2 and family came too.I made a sponge sandwich cake decorated with green icing and lots of candles so DGD could help her uncle to blow them out.I must have relit them 4 times then she wanted a candle in her own piece of cake :rotfl:-dont think DS1 has ever had so many choruses of Happy birthday sung to him before.Baby had his bottle before we ate so it was all quite relaxed.
I've just made another batch of mince for the freezer as DS asked if they could take the leftovers home for tonight, but they kept having more so in the end theres just enough for my lunch( and it was huge )Lamb koftas for tea,not sure what with yet.
I have to get a Christening pressie this week for DBs DGS,he's 18 mths now though and I dont know what to get :undecided Had a quick look online yesterday with Dil2b and no wiser.
Snoozer-You have to be kind to yourself with your recent sad loss, and you did all that clearing out at your Mums too-no wonder you don't really feel like it.Hugs
I'm not too keen on cleaning up either, needs must I suppose, but with the pups massive paws muddying throughout downstairs after her toilet breaks in our soggy garden, and walks in the sodden fields I've definitely lost the inclinationJust feel like snuggling with my book( well my :money: Nook e reader)I've nearly finished. Did enough housework yesterday before everyone came so its tidy enough.
Julie hope you soon feel better in yourself x

Had a planned lay in this morning and slept in till 9. Naughty girl. Trouble is I don't sleep very well and was still awake at 3 this morning.
Very worried about my eldest son. He is a strange man and can never quite work him out. He only lived about 20 miles away from me and for what ever reason hasn't contacted me for over 2 years. Then out of the blue I hear he,s upped sticks and moved a couple of hundred miles away.
3 weeks later I get a call from him. He has had problems with his hips and had a biopsy and scans and they have now found growths on his bones. He should get the results on Friday. I am soo scared. They seem to be telling him to prepare for the worst. I want to cuddle him and I can't. I tell him how much I love him and I will somehow or other get to him if he needs me. I just don't no what to do. It's the first time he's told me he loves me in years. He must be so scared.
Sorry for the moan but I need to sound off. Although my D D knows I don't want to worry her too much. My 2nd DS causes me so much worry and has many problems of his own ( addictions) it's very hard to talk to him. My 3rd DS is good but finds it hard to talk to his brother because of all the lack of feeling he shows. Well just wait and pray for the best I suppose.
Just thought I always seem to be writing about my woes. I do apologise.
Hoping everyone else is doing ok. Well wishes to all needing hugs.0 -
It seems like a lot of friends here need posi-vibes of one sort or another, so with your permission, I will empower the healing stones I often use for various things; Haematite for those needing the strength to cope; Rose Quartz for those needing a (((HUG))) and to feel better about themselves; Amethyst for those in pain or poor health. There are plenty there, grab whichever you need; one of each if you wish.:o They work for pets as well (Penny-Dog used to have an Amethyst attached to her collar towards the end of her life) so if your animals need any, they're there for them too.Time_to_face_the_music wrote: »LW - you are so right about the GA, it always makes me feel like that. LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU'RE DOING SW OR WW
I've just made a choccie mousse for tonight's and tomorrow's dessert - I had half a tub of unpasteurised cream (from the farmers market) left fom doing the quiche we had Monday and yesterday, and that's an excellent and delicious way to use it up.:o
Mushroom risotto for main course tonight, so a nice easy dins, one way and another.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
The wind is howling here today and it we had heavy rain and hailstones most of the night. The market has been cancelled due to the high winds, luckily I have enough potatoes until the Friday market, if not I will get them from the greengrocer, he is dearer though.
I have not seen the forecast for the rest of the week, but I heard someone in town say that the weather will be worse on Saturday.
Shopping done for the week, didn't need much so only spent £32.
Dinner tonight is HM chicken and mushroom pie with roast potatoes and broccoli
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Finished my book
More rain & muddy pawprints now
My DS2 ordered something online and has changed his address on his ee bay account to his new house but forgot to change the postcode from ours so the parcel was addressed to him at his new house but with our postcode Our wonderful postman was asked about it because our postcode is his area-he said he recognized the surname and rang the bell to ask me if it was ours,he was a bit puzzled because DS address is nothing like ours ,but the PO went the extra mile to make sure it went to the right place :T impressed!
fiftyeighter-sorry to hear you have this worry about your son and hope his results aren't as bad as feared on Friday.(((hugs))):heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
