OS Daily Thread Wednesday 5th February

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

  • Good morning everyone :)

Real flying visit as running very late.

Managed a slightly better sleep but still not great, another early night needed tonight.

LW - you are so right about the GA, it always makes me feel like that. Was thinking about you when I read Gonzo's post about the film - I too want to see the Wolf of Wall Street but would rather have our own LameWolf of OldStyle Street! :D

Need to run but will catch up later hopefully.

Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or want them. Keep warm, well and safe and have a super day :)

  • Morning :)

Yesterday I managed the play group with the girls. And I filled the freezer with Mini Pizza and made 10 portions (3ltrs) of cheese sauce too, lucky I was planning lasagne for the christening in April :)

Today is all the usual stuff, tidying, making lunches, making bread and ironing (I'm sure I just did it all!)

Lunch today is mini omelettes for DD1, I need to stock the freezer...

Dinner is freezer surprise, which I think is spaghetti bolognaise :)

Hope everyone has a great day x

Tired this morning & would rather not go to work, but needs must.
I found a new game to play last night, it was called 'Chase the wheelie bin' I could hear mine being blown around & twice I went out to catch it, 2nd time I dropped a sand bag into it to hold it still.
Yesterday, after work I made 7 HM ready meals for hubby, 10 portions of cauliflower cheese & some chocolate brownies for my team at work.
Time I fed the fish & made hubby another cuppa.
    Have a good day.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

Joint fifth in last night's pub quiz but at least we consistantly get 60% right every week.Pub had more teams as well.:):)
Rain is back again I so feel for the folk in the southwest It must be dreadful to be just waiting for the water to arrive. If I hear about a drought or water shortage this year I think it will be a miracle

School run first thing, then some paperwork to sort out at home.I noticed that the nights are getting lighter now so roll on next month when the clocks go forward.
<<hugs to any poorlies out there >>
Luckily this is a short month so it will soon be gone :):):) and the bulbs will start getting bigger and daffs will be out and that always cheers everyone up I think I know there are some in the shops at the moment but I like to see them in the garden nodding away in the breeze :):)
Have a good'un if you can today mid-week already
    Cheers chums

    Morning everyone

Now light, still wet underfoot, as we’ve had rain and wind during the night but no frost here this morning and light cloud. We’ve been very lucky as it’s nowhere near as bad here as it is for the poor folks in the South and Cornwall.

DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.

Dinner last night was scampi, chips, peas and a bread roll for the menfolk. I had salmon, jacket potato and veg. I remembered to get the chicken out to defrost so tonight we’re having roast chicken, mash, veg and gravy.

Work yesterday was fairly busy in the morning but then eased off so we were able to catch up, I’ve got a training session this morning, but I only work until lunchtime then I’m on days off – but this week I’m working on Saturday again as I wasn’t able to give it away, but as we didn’t have any particular plans and DH is working too it doesn’t really matter. We’ve invited friends over for nibbles and drinks on Saturday night as we went to their house on NYE and haven’t really seen them since, so be good to catch up. Will do all the normal chores when I get back this afternoon.

    Keep safe and well x

Windy here too, not sure if it's raining, probably is. Washing fairly up to date, DW emptied and packed lunches made. Can't decide what to do for tea tonight, run out of steam!

Made some biscuits and fruit cake yesterday to fill the boxes, DD likes to have something sweet after her tea.

Nothing much else happening, just surviving till the long weekend!

    Take care. XX

    Morning all,

Hope everyone affected by the weather is staying safe.

Went out for dinner last night which was lovely, had chicken for the first time in about 2 months, and there was a bone in it....which means It'll probably be another 2 months til I have chicken again!

Not much to report, my 2nd hand books will be arriving today which I'm excited for, and I have a meeting later today which could also lead to some exciting prospects.

Dinner as YS pizza I got the other day, nice and easy, might even put OH in charge of that!

Not much else going on, didn't get any revision done yesterday so that's the plan for tonight.
