I have a gas prepayment meter and for some reason it is eating the credit so fast.
we are not having the heating on at the moment and only use gas in the last week for the gas hob on our cooker.
we are with BG and the gas prices and standing charge is showing as this
Rate unit price 4.780 Tariff cost 5
Standing Charge 0.2600
The prices are right for our area but are they set our right on the meter?
i know prices are sky high but to me something is just not right with how much we are putting into the meter when we are not using it much.

Is there any debt on the meter.
How many kWh are you using daily.
How much are you putting on the meter.
What is your meter screen telling you- 00 - Purchased credit on meter
- 01 - last amount of purchased credit that was taken for arrears
- 02 - Last amount of purchased credit that was taken to repay emergency credit
- 03 - Last amount purchased allocated for gas
- 10 - Price per unit of gas
- 17 - Daily Standing Charge
- 21 - Amount of credit that must be on the meter before emergency credit may be offered
- 22 - Amount of emergency credit that will be offered
- Card must be inserted in meter for following screens
- 25 - The minimum debt repayment in 1 week
- 26 - The maximum debt repayment in 1 week
- 27 - Current gas arrears
