Help Needed - Parking Eye

I received a letter from parking eye a few months ago because my car had over stayed in one of their car parks. I was not the driver of the car and have never contacted them to say otherwise. I have now received 2 letters from debt recovery ltd and the last one said if I did not pay £150 it would be taken to court. I live in Scotland and from reading previous posts they all say ignore but now I am starting to stress that this will be taken further. Do I bite the bullet and just pay them the money? Please help!

Why should you pay the money? What's wrong with the advice you have already been given? They can only pursue the driver, which is not you. This will go nowhere. Just keep on ignoring.0

I have only been reading previous posts so wanted to make the advice given was up to date. I will continue to ignore thanks!0 -
'Ignore' does apply to private parking charge notices issued in Scotland (and Northern Ireland) but not England or Wales.
This information applies to your situation, but is mainly to inform the next E/W Newbie who will read this thread in a few months time and then say 'I read that I should ignore this parking charge, but now I've got a debt collector chasing me. Help!'Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The letter received this week says notice of intended court action? Should I continue to ignore? As have noticed some forums say do not ignore letters before claim?0

Who is the letter from? If it's from DR+, then there is no change in the advice already given.
Essentially the landowner (or their solicitor) is the only one who can 'take you to court', although PE have been doing so (in E/W only), but courts have been increasingly telling them (and dismissing cases) they have no locus standi to do so.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Yes it is from DR+0

So search the forum for 'Recovery Scotland' and take comfort from all the other threads that have gone before. A very common discussion!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There you go!
You could get a string of these, including some with 'scary' red writing on them. But advice continues as above.
Come back if you get a 'real' LBC from the landowner/retailer (which you won't) or from PE (which you might, but which will have no likelihood of progression in Scotland).
Sleep easy. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
