in Credit cards
I went into the site which Martin had on this site . The site was Travelmoneymax.com I wanted to buy some Filipino pesos for my holiday and to get best rate of exchange which was registering at 74.49 php to the £1. but only if I took out the Clarity credit card out. Having done this I went on to the Halifax web page and eventually got to the area where money could be bought. After a long deliberancy with Halifax (Travelex ) they only were giving 67.675 php. When I asked why so low they came back to say its so as you get the card :money:I was really disappointed in this and even though there are no charges on this credit card, there are charges if you buy money of 12.9% apr. This is a site that we could without then. I have not gone with them because of the difference and will buy my pesos in the Philippines as the rate of exchange there is much higher then in the UK. Has anyone else had the same thing done to them? Tazdeevil

74.49 is the rate you would have got if you used Halifax Clarity in Philippines today for purchases or to withdraw pesos from an ATM:

You don't need this card for buying currency in UK, and the rate here is likely to be worse.0 -
Love the poll, by the way. Both meaningless and pointless at the same time. My favourite type.0

You can't get pesos out of an ATM in the UK so your Halifax card is useless for that purpose - and not what it's intended for anyway
I too have never been 'deceived' by Travelex - and I have used them on occasion0 -
Why are new posters prohibited from posting links, yet can post ridiculous polls?0

I'm not voting unless there's a prize. And of course a premium rate text number I can respond on.
Maybe if I win I can get one of those very subtly advertised credit cards now appearing at the top of the forum?0
