Booking theory test online

As much as my Daughter is bright, she obviously lacks a bit of common sense.
On the 28/01/14, she booked her theory test online thinking she was doing me a favour.
She used the website bookyourtheorytest
She paid £39:50 a week ago.
She was told that she would receive an email within 7 days with details of her test, this has not happened. I just wish she had let me sort it for her.

Can anyone tell me how i go about getting her money back for her as this has stressed her out completely & she feels so stupid for falling for what can only be described as a scam.

Very concerned parent

    Depends on how she paid.

Top Tip. Government websites have GOV in the URL.

Checked the SPAM folder? Check the website she used for a complaints procedure or refund policy.

If not then charge back via the card provider.

  • She paid with her debit card
  • A theory test costs £31. One google search told me that. Gods know what service your daughter paid for from a dodgy site.

She'll have to go back to the website and contact them.

If you have heard nothing, get back on to them and demand a refund.

Then get your daughter to change her bank details as they have been seriously compromised - nearly all of these rip-off sites are based in places with no concept of personal privacy.

Then get her to book properly with the correct site.
  • One of my pupils got caught by a similar site (after me warning him to only use the .gov website, dunno why I waste my breath sometimes!)

I kept advising him to cancel and get a refund, he kept coming up with reasons why he didn't call them..

After two weeks he did finally get an email with a test date, which he was happy enough with, so there is still hope. I'd still try the cancel & refund option though.

very common. Do a check on the companies on duedil.com and you'll find that they do rake in quite a bit of cash too.
