Partial postage refund - am i being unreasonable?

Maybe the OP doen't post much and last posted when the medium parcels fiasco was ongoing. I still see a lot of people at the PO shocked at how much the price as now fallen.0

Actually although £6 plus is too much and would put me off bidding altogether, I don't think it is unreasonable to have a little on top for petrol and packaging. I do think it is wrong to mention the paypal and ebay fees as that is not part of the postage costs and you shouldn't be adding this on top of postage as it isn't the buyer's problem."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

The best thing you should do is refund her what she wants. Its not worth the effort for you to argue with such a petty person. With eBay postage costs coupled with PayPal fees you are arguing over 40p which with the packaging you are probably in the negative.
If you sell a lot on eBay you get accustomed to these type of people so just see it as part of selling on eBay and every seller has to deal with these types.0 -
This is ridiculous! Buyers should only bid if they are happy with the total price. I bid on a dress with a £5 postage fee the other day, it would have only cost £2.60 to post but I won the bid for 99p and happened to think the dress in question was worth £6. Had the auction gone up to say £5 to I would not have bid as I didn't think it was worth £10.0

It's a tough one, I'd probably give her the full refund in order to protect my account ratings.
On another note I think It's totally reasonable to charge for time spent packing the item, and transporting it to the post office. I always dispatch every item within 24 hours, and regard it as a paid service, and not a charity.

Indeed (as above and a few other posts) -when bidding a buyer is VERY clearly shown the postage price as well, they can take it or leave it at the total price.
Just the same as when I buy goods from outside of the uk and pay tax as well as postage.
If they can't add the 2/3 together they should not bother buying, they would be better off counting their loose change instead of letting the tescos machine rip them off also at 8% for counting it for them.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -
Just add whatever expenses you have to the price of the item and nobody would be asking you for refunds. P&P charge is just that; postage & packaging.0
