Mazda 3 2012 Washer Jet Adjust

Options
Does anyone know how the hell you adjust the jets on this car?

I have done a lot of googling and all say stick a pin in the nozzle etc. But this car seems to just have a long rectangular hole and no visible nozzles?

It is under warranty so can I pop to a dealer and ask them to do it free? They point too low and hit the wiper arm sending water all over.

Help!

I don't know this car in particular, but certainly sticking in a pin is the accepted method for most cars. Have you checked the owner's handbook ? There's likely to be something in there about it.

It's not something that would be covered by warranty as such, as it's not a fault, just a standard thing that needs adjusting every so often. But if you get no joy from the manual, I'd be surprised if the dealer wasn't prepared to at least show you how to do it yourself - would take them a matter of a couple of minutes if that.
  • Thanks, I wasn't able to find anything in the manual.
I am collecting a part from the dealer this week so will ask then.

I have no knowledge of this car however on the Toyota Auris the position of the washer jet is fixed and cannot be adjusted. There are 3 different versions of the part, which as you would expect, hit 3 different parts of the screen. In the words of Michael Barrymore, "top, middle or bottom"!

  • Seems like it may be similar with my Mazda. I will have to ask the dealer, I bet they just say tough!
  • My Subaru Legacy has this type of washer jet, it's easy! Just use a very small flat bladed electricial screwdriver, rotate the driver & the jet is a ball type which can be moved.
I've found it easier to adjust than the type that require a pin to adjust.
    Have fun!

Thanks, though they really look as though there is no adjustment
I have now joined and asked on a Mazda 3 forum, hopefully they should have the answer!
