Royal Mail Special Delivery Compensation

I need advice on compensation claims. I sent a voucher using Special Delivery but it has not been delivered by Royal Mail. I was told of this via email after I wrote to them to track my mail as the information wasn't available online.

My question is can I claim for the value of that voucher and is there anyway to get back that undelivered mail ?

Unfortunatly, usually once it's gone, it's gone. You probably won't get it back.

Try filling out THIS form or give them a ring on 08457 740 740. They should send you a claims form which you will have to fill out. Depending on how much the item cost and how much compensation you opted for you should get the lower amount back (the standard compensation amount is £250).

If you have an original invoice for the goods it will probably help your claim.

I had an important letter go missing (stolen) by Royal Mail, sent by recorded delivery and they did absolutely nothing to try to track it down.

I wrote to their London head office to complain about the absolutely appalling service I got and goit about £40 compensation.

Worth a try, especially as the 'Customer Service' Dept will lie to you and try to fob you off with 4 free stamps.
