Default from Lending Stream

Hi, I wondered if any of you guys could advise me what to do next?
In 2012 I received a debt collection letter stating I owed Lending Stream money from 2010. Apparently the debt was £120 but due to interest was £444.50. I asked for proof and never heard back from them.
Then in Nov2013 I checked my credit file and there it is, a default from Lending stream. Credit expert got in touch on my behalf but then said I need to deal with them.
Apparently I did owe them one final payment (which I cannot even remember) and they claim they sent a notice of default by email and post - again nothing I can remember.
I offered them a deal in that I would pay £270 in return for them removing the default from my file. They keep asking for their money now but refuse to withdraw the notice of default, even though I am certain they never even tried contacting me, claiming their money or any of that. It has taken over 3 years and me to contact them to even try and sort this matter.
Any ideas as to what I should do next as I really need this default removed from my account!

They don't need to remove the default - as far as they are concerned it is a true reflection of the account.:hello:0 -

So they just get to post what ever on my file, not get in touch for over 3years years and when I offer them a deal, they can turn it down?
Doesn't seem to be all that fair or make much sense.
Surely there is a way to clear it off my file and pay them - everyone wins then!0 -

You missed a payment and they added a Default to your file
It is a fair reflection of how the account was managed.
IMO your highly unlikely to get them to remove the Default, you missed a payment, they have a legal obligation to report accurate information, removing the Default would not be an accurate reflection of how the account was managed.

hey, I'm wondering if anyone can help me. If I have settled my accounts in my credit report and they show as defaulted can I ask for this to be removed to increase my credit score and help with mortgage application? Any help or advice would be appreciated0
