Brand New Boiler Leaking Water, Advice Needed Please
Hi
I've posted this at the end of an older thread I have, but decided to post it as a new thread as it isn't the same issue as my old thread even though I changed the heading.
What happens is that just before Christmas I had a new Baxi Duo Tec 28 HE combi boiler installed. The next day the pressure had dropped to 0 and I saw a drip coming from underneath the right hand side of the boiler. (I also had other issues with the installation which have now been rectified so I won't go into that now). I called them out and the came and just repressurised the boiler and just told me to keep an eye on it.
I have had the company back 3 times so far and the boiler is still dripping water and still needs constant repressurising on a daily basis. There were other leaks to their pipe work which has now been resolved.
I haven't paid as yet and will not be doing so until my boiler is working properly and not dripping.
Does anyone have any idea what can be leaking ? They say they have replaced the valves. The drip seems to be coming from the opening underneath on the left side if the boiler.
I'm beginning to think the actual boiler is faulty and not the pipe work leading into it and if this is the case should I be asking for a new replacement boiler ? It's been like this since it was installed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks, AppleDap

Ask them to try again, if not call baxi under warranty. If it's a boiler fault they will fix it and if not call your installer back and charge him the baxi call out fee or take it off the bill. Just advise your installer you will be taking this route before.0

Thanks for your reply. They are coming again tomorrow, 4th time lucky I hope ! If not resolved I will do as you say.
Do you have any idea what could be causing the leak ? or what is actually leaking in the boiler ?
Many thanks0 -

The condensate pipe is connected / not blocked.?That gum you like is coming back in style.0

The condensate pipe is connected / not blocked.?
Is that the white drainage pipe coming from the boiler ?
I don't think it's blocked. Even though I don't think it's been put in properly, as at the bottom where it connects to the other waste pipe going outside its running downhill !
Also the drip is not near the pipe.0 -
It only drips when the heating is switched off. When the heating is on it doesn't drip !0

It's supposed to run downhill-if not it wouldn't drain the condensate out.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Is it venting from the PRV overflow pipe (that's the copper pipe that runs to the outside wall)? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Is that the overflow pipe that the water runs through if the pressure is too high ?
There is no water coming from it that I've noticed, but there is so much rain at the moment I can't really tell. The pressure drops all the time so nothing comes out of it due to that.
I know that the white plastic pipe is supposed to run downhill, they've attatched it to the pipe the sink and bath water drain to outside, the "fall" was never very big on this, but the weight of the joint where they have attatched the boiler pipe has caused it to dip.
I pointed out the dip and it would not drain out properly the day it was installed but they blamed it on the existing bath/sink pipe that was there (that they joined the boiler pipe to), and said it wasn't their responsibility.0
