reclaim bank charges due to financial hardship

hi, im new to this site, i would appreciate any advice, i have read martins tips but seem somewhat overwhelmed as to what i may claim, i was watching this morning yesterday and martin was talking about reclaiming bank charges such as overdraft charges due to them putting you further into financial hardship, i believe i fall into this category, has anyone claimed this and have any advice? but my main question was having looked at this site today i think i could also claim for being mis-sold a package, ie when they charge you x amount a month for your account and say you have these benefits, i dont know if i can claim for both? that is my question? has anyone done this? or should i see which would be better for me to claim? i would appreciate advice as i am struggling to say the least and any money back would really help me xx

You cant claim anything. You put your position to the bank and ask them to view your case under financial hardship criteria. The bank will then decide if you meet their criteria and look at the options available to them. Refunding some charges is one option but another frequently used one is to suspend future charges for a period.
but my main question was having looked at this site today i think i could also claim for being mis-sold a package, ie when they charge you x amount a month for your account and say you have these benefits, i dont know if i can claim for both?

If you feel you were mis-sold the account then you are free to make a complaint on that basis.
i dont know if i can claim for both?

Two separate things. But you can proceed with both.

There's sticky thread at the top of the board where many people have posted of their success or failure in reclaiming bank charges.

With regards to the success & failures of those following Martin's tips on reclaiming packaged bank account charges, there's a link to a specific thread in that particular article.

As mentioned above, the two type of claim are separate; if both apply, then try both :)
