    Hi everyone,

I spent yesterday unpacking and then wading through a mammoth load of mum and dad's paperwork, shredding most of it. I was already determined not to put Dd and DS through this when we go but this has just strengthened it. I've found things dating back 60 years and it hasn't been kept in any order, just a load of old envelopes. I found an envelope containing a form about my entrance to grammar school in 1969. I know they were proud but my older brother went to grammar school 2 years before me and there is nothing about that, so random.

I've had sore teeth the past few days and I think it's because I'm clenching them in my sleep, must try to stop.

I've got the hairdresser this morning and then I have to collect a mirror I bought off ebay two weeks ago which I haven't been able to collect because of circumstances.

    Have a good day all.

Tru I love the name Ethan :) Great news on the greenhouse :T that is something that is on my list of needs.

Arthritis is playing up today, that usually means a change in the weather :(

DH has put the scooter on charge and has cleaned and made up the fire for me, he says I have hands like icicles, but I don't feel cold.

DD is in the bath, she is meeting her BF in town before she starts her shift.

DH wants egg, chips and beans for dinner tonight, so nice and simple
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Morning all,

Thanks for your kind wishes. I'm trying to be more positive. I've always worried about taking painkillers and because I can't manage without them it's worrying me. I'm lucky I have such a supportive family and they are looking after me.
I don't think it helped that the physio was worried I couldn't bend my leg to 90% and then I fainted on my way out! not the best way to start the day:eek:
I think everything is just getting on top of me. I'm used to being the boss and the one who sorts and organises everything, I'm trying to learn to take a back seat.
I'm sure it will pass soon. I am going to try and get back to my crochet just finding it difficult to concentrate.
Anyway have a good day x

    Hello

Sorry I've missed you all for the last few days, both DH and me have had coughs and feeling yuks! I've started doing Breakfast club as an ongoing casual thing so I am out of the house by 7.10 now. I went from there to do some invigilating, thankfully it's only mocks as I had to go out twice and have a coughing fit. My middle hurts so much, I feel like I've been in a fight!

Not much else to report, DH still looking for a car, everything else more or less the same.

Will pop back later after work and try to catch up on everyone's posts :)

    Afternoon all!

Went to see Wolf of Wall Street last night, amazing film but woah it's long!

Off out again tonight with work for dinner which will be nice, it's easier to be social when I'm not being vegan!

Not much else to report really! Revision is taking over till Monday, I really hope I pass my exams!

Sweetie, if it's any comfort at all, from what I recall of having operations (back in the 1980's, on my face) the BD often visits afterwards; it's a secondary effect of the anaesthetic. This will pass; just hang onto that thought. And of course, you can organise as much as you like, but others must actually carry out what you organise, iyswim.:o
You've been through a lot, now your body needs to recoup some strength; so your challenge is to find tasks you can do sitting down for the time being (or even lying on the sofa;)); and of course do your physio exercises diligently.;)
Fainting doesn't sound so good - did they suggest why that happened at all?:( Could you commit to checking in with us here every day? Even if it's just to wave and say "Hi"? Have a (((HUG))) from a long-time BD owner, to be going on with.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

At work today, so not much OS going on (unless you count not going to the shops!). Dinner last night was Chicken Supreme and pasta which girls both liked. Well, they ate it anyway. Think my younger one ate it through fear. While I was cooking the dinner, my older one said, Mummy, DD2 is drawing on the walls.” I actually thought she was joking as neither of them have ever done anything like that and should know better.

Not only had she scribbled on the walls (in the hallway, up the stairs, the landing and a couple of choice bits on the furniture in her room), but it was with a surgical marker pen (my dad works in a hospital and brings them home). These are the ones that they write on you before you have an operation and so they don’t come off easily (or at all!). To say I flipped out is putting it mildly shall we say.

Any ideas of how to take it off? Although I am supposed to be decorating later in the year, it's dark pen and might just show through any new paint I put on.

Dinner tonight is sticky pork ribs and rice. I asked mum to try DD1 with it as they have the option of having school lunches next Tuesday as a celebration of Chinese New Year, but DD1 wouldn’t have the foggiest of what a pork rib, so I figured would be best to buy some first and see if she liked them.

Tru – I’m like that with books. I have three on the go at the moment. Should just concentrate on reading one at a time!

pollyanna I would try WD40. Nail varnish remover (the type with acetone in it) should work too, but that'll take the paint off too so only use it if you're redecorating sooner rather than later :D
