Credit card needed for online purchases how too get one with bad credit history

Hello there this is my first post so bear with me if i babble

I had problems when hubby lost job 5 years ago but now we are on our feet and fighting it out with the rest i had a few ccjs and am paying an adminsitration order at the moment and hubby too. I have applied for my cashcard too be upgraded too a debit which i thought meant i could spend my own cash but they say it could be used for credit so they said NO i cant spend my own cash and without a debit card or credit card i am being left behind with online shopping and purchases no one seems too except cash anymore lololol

I am not after a large credit card but just £50-100 balance and even willing too pay that out first as deposit, but i cant even get one from capital one lolol

Any ideas of the best card or if anyone would give me one??? it would be for online shopping grocery when hubby works away and i dont drive so no more than £100 would be needed and the cash would be paid straight back in the same day via credit transfer which they wont like much but i do not want too get some big card debt it just the name visa that everyone wants
ok any ideas thanks???

You can try capital one, barclaycard or vanquis but I think with outstanding ccj's and admin orders you may find it very difficult to get a card.

There are some prepay cards around, but the fees are extortionate. It would probably work out cheaper to get a taxi to the supermarket!

The reason the bank is reluctant to give you a debit card is that it works like a cheque guarantee card and when used, doesn't have to be checked against your account balance for every transaction, potentially allowing you to go overdrawn.

    Good luck.

If you are subject to an administration order it is highly unlikely (impossible?) you'll get a credit card. Who are you shopping online with? I know Tesco have a card that you have to pay money into before using, you might try them, there was a thread on it some time ago here. Other than that I'd suggest that you contact the retailer directly, they may be able to arrange something. The only other thing I could think of would be to get someone else to pay for you and you gie them cash. There could be issues of trust but you could do all your shopping online then call someone else, give them your username and password, let them login and pay but choose not to store card details.
