Hi all,Can anyone help,I went on holiday in Oct 2013 and went on one of the blanket trips.Cutting a long story short I got the complete king size sale and when they sent me the goods, the mattress was too big for my base.I contacted PAL and after a lot of bickering they said they would make me a new mattress if I sent them half the balance but I had to send them the measurements again in inches.I done this and sent them 78" x 60".They made the new mattress and sent it to me and that was too big as well.I contacted them again and told them to forget it and to refund me my monies paid and come collect the stuff. It is still sitting in my front room waiting for them to pick it up.As it says on the contract governed by the clients place of residence, does that mean like here they have sold me something thats not of the description they said it would be.Many thanks all

    What country are they in?
    What country are you in?
What size was the mattress they made for you?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

No, I didn't understand it either, but given that the topic title included the words "buying abroad" then the location of the seller seemed like a good question to ask. Given that the dimensions are in inches, the location of the buyer also seemed like a good question, and given that the thing seems to be a wrong-sized mattress, then finding out what size it was sounded like a good question.

I prefer asking questions than giving answers, because if we don't ask questions, we're generally making assumptions and not giving the best answer.

    Who are PAL?

You ordered a kingsize? The issue there is that Kingsize varies from country to country.

    US kingsize = 76" x 80". Equivalent to a UK Super King?

    Would they know that?

    How did you pay?

Hi forgot my name, there is no issue here with the mattress sizes changing from country to country at all.On my contract form it says I asked for a 6'6" x 5' mattress they sent the first one that was two and a half inches longer in length which hung over the bottom of my bed. They then said after I sent photos of it etc that if I paid half of the balance they would make me another.I paid them with my credit card over the phone £700 and they sent me another mattress. This one was two and a half inches wider than I requested.Being as they asked me to send them the exact measurements in inches I cant see how they can send me these oversize mattresses. Two inches or whatever may not seem a lot but when you are paying a sum of £1,339 for goods, wouldn't you say you would want them as ordered. Oh and the seller is in Tenerife it was a blanket trip we went on, and if I was in the other persons shoes WTFH, I would sack the person responsible for making these mattresses it quite apparent he or she can't read a tape measure. Pal is short for Canarias authentic Lambswool Regards Scottaff

It's very odd for a European company to work in inches.

    Anyway, for anyone interested...

  • Hi ABC and my CMYK can you tell me how the others got on with their problem if at all please and hi again WTFH, I think they got confused with the world calculator as they told me that on that 78" came up as 6'5" and that I was wrong. When I told them that the 6.50 on the world calculator is in fact six and a half which is 78" so they asked me for the measurements in inches and that I had to be exact which I was.Pity they couldn't be the same
