Hi all
I've just picked the above laptop for peanuts.
Windows won't load in normal mode (it freezes on the "Starting Windows" screen with all 4 coloured squares in place.
All the safe Mode options get stuck after loading CLASSPNP.SYS
I've tried getting to the factory restore section using Alt-F10 (thanks to Google) but it won't load the app it's apparently supposed to.
I think it should have Windows 7 Pro on it (I can just about read that much on the label underneath).
Anyone any ideas how I can get this laptop working again?

Do you have any Windows Disks with the laptop? A recovery disk would probably do. Sound to me like a corrupt windows file somewhere and would usually require a disk to repair. Failing that, might be best if you bought a Windows disk & Licence and installed again from fresh. I'm assuming that there's nothing on the laptop you need as you have just bought it.0

Ditto. W7 install disk, choose "Repair". Wait a very long time. Then report back!Friendly greeting!0

Explains why you got it for peanuts0

Nope, no disks available.
I've found a solution thanks to NiftyDigits though.
All I need to do now is sort out a battery and some more memory for it and I'm away.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

That's the OS installed and the laptop is up and running.
It won't boot with the battery plugged in (but does so fine without it) so I'm assuming the battery is now a paperweight.
I've tried a google search but I'm not sure which companies to trust.
Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction please?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
