Please help vauxhall van fire due to a fault
Comments

Many insurance policies exclude claims for electrical faults leading to fire.
Sorry to be the soothsayer but start reading, hope your lucky.Be happy...;)0 -
You really need to speak to someone like Trading Standards.
Vauxhall will know they've got a good chance of fobbing it off onto your insurance - which you'll end up paying increased premiums for - if they don't accept liability under warranty.
But the simple fact is that an 11 month old vehicle really shouldn't go bursting into flames if it hasn't been damaged or badly repaired / modified.0 -
The insurance company do not cover the part that's set on fire.
The reverse sensors where fitted 10 months ago which was by vauxhall.
I think we will try going through financial ombudsman and trading standards. We are going to talk to a solicitor too.
Exactly it's in warranty and think they are just trying to wriggle out of it. Insurance tried doing the same at first till we said we will take it further. So we have emailed the complaints department at vauxhall and copied a managing director into it!
Just hope something comes of it xxx0 -
Our neighbours are witnesses and I am to where the fire was. And where it has melted (all the engine and the rest of the van is still in tact) so hopefully solicitor will make something of his too. Xx0

A few years ago i was a courier, and started driving a brand new Vauxhall Combo van. The van was bought brand new and after 3 weeks was completely destroyed by a fire which started under the bonnet, along with several thousand pounds worth of freight.
The insurer my employer used excluded fire loss due to electrical faults, and Vauxhall were an utter PITA, doing everything they could to avoid liability - a few months later my employer went bust, I'm sure this was partially due to losing such an expensive asset and getting no recompense, whilst spending thousands on solicitors to chase Vauxhall.0 -
It was parked with a cold engine and not running when it caught fire?
Possible some prank went wrong? Kids/teenagers messing?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
