Hi all, not sure what I have done wrong but I am crate training my 6 month old puppy and thought I had won!! However he has now starting coming in from the garden and weeing on the floor, he has also started to wee on my sofa. Most of the time I haven't noticed him doing it so can't tell do any thing.
I know he is only 6 months old but what should I do??

Do you think it could be defiance? My current dog would often urinate in the house if he was told off, he would just look at you and wee where he stood.
If possible try not to leave him unattended, so when it looks like he needs a wee you can drag him out, or if there isn't time you can punish him. When he does go outside carrying on with your praise and if you don't already say weewee/poopoo.0 -
Go back to basics.
Put him out every hour, and after he eats or drinks, then praise him like mad when he wees outside.
You'll need to clean the sofa with something like Simple Solution to get rid of the smell, and then maybe spray a deterrent just to make sure. As long as it smells of his wee he'll want to go there again!0 -

Its not fear, dogs need to know what is right and wrong, so when they're attempting to jump on the sofa they need a punishment, I'm not sure why you think I believe my dog could understand English.0 -

Dogs have absolutely no concept of right and wrong. Why would telling off work in an animal that doesn't speak English, unless your goal is to alarm and scare the dog by a raised voice?0 -

Still wondering why you think I believe my dog can understand English, bizarre, although it would be rather handy. Dogs most certainly do know good, and bad.0 -

I think you must be incredibly confused.0 -

Well I'm still wondering why originally brought up my dogs lack of English, no idea of its relevance at all, I did think at first you had quoted the wrong person, but apparently not, just posted something completed random.0
