I have some lovely fabric to use - Laura Ashley Hydrangea Camomile - that I got in the sale.
I am (once again) revamping my little shed as a garden retreat for summer and have just painted some old cast aluminium chairs and bistro table in a light grey. Now I want to make some cushions to soften the look, not to mention be comfortable.
I could make my usual fold over type cushions but would love to have a go at making some piped cushions with a zip in the middle of the back of cushion.
My question is, do I put the zip in first then put the piping cord/bias tape in to complete the cushion? I think it makes more sense that way but just wanted to ask if it sounds logical. I do have some sewing skills but it is ages since I made anything a bit complicated.

Yes it would be best that way around - make panel with zip first then join to other side with piping etc0
