Can anyone confirm whether Critical Illness Insurance is a form of PPI?

    Thank you

No. It has as much in common with PPI as house insurance does.

Thank for the info - here is an update.

I got the info via the SAR which showed 2 loan accounts and one credit card both with PPI.
I think filled in the paperwork again with the account details and today they have replied.

They say that the credit card had ppi but as they have no record of a complaint/cancellation before 2014 then they are not interested even though the paperwork they have sent clearly shows that ppi had an opt out clause (not opt in!)

As per the 2 loans closure dates of 2001 and 2005 which both had ppi, they say no records are present (although I have the account numbers and sort code) therefore they will not pay.

all these were sold to a man in his 20's who lived at home, worked full time and was on a salary!!!!

HELP - where to go now???

If they have no records and he has no records, there isn't anywhere to go.

There would also have to provable evidence that any thing was miss sold.

    Time to move on....
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

None of those are valid complaint reasons, he would have been covered, should he have lost his job.

The details you have provided here simply indicates that the insurance was suitable for you!
Why would being on "a salary" make you immune to illness or redundancy?
