i walked out of mine at college as i felt it was insulting when the first question asked me to label parts of a desktop computer. the labels were "monitor" "keyboard" "mouse" "computer"0

I must admit that the beginning part was very basic, but I would say it is a qualification well worth having in my honest opinion. I feel it has helped me get jobs, i mean it is alright saying you are computer literate, but with this qualification, you can prove itThe opposite of what you know...is also true0

Got ECDL in high school... Also did higher computing in high school
I knew already all the stuff involved in ECDL because of computing, so it was a waste of my time.
HOWEVER
I have been told that it is attractive to some employees as some firms must provide ECDL training to people, therefore you would be saving them a cost; making you a much better candidate than the people without the qualification.Exams

An A level is a higher qualification than an ECDL so if all you have is a GCSE or similar then go for it but any student who has gone on to further education after reaching 16 is considered to have the skills needed to use a computer already especially if you are aged under about 35 since computers have been in all schools for the past 20 years.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

When I went for the tax office they were pretty hard set that I had this. I didn't though
Some of the modules are really easy but some are more difficult like the database one was probably one of the most difficult ones out there. I done ECDL for free with my college as part of my course and I do feel it's worth while for those who are looking at getting into an office job. I don't think they care how good you are with computers only that you can use these programs and that's what it shows.0
