eBay fees on postage when collected instead

OK so I bid for and won several items on eBay.
The seller was local but didn't state that they accepted payment on collection.
They sent me a combined postage invoice as soon as their last auction finished.
Meanwhile I was sending them a message to see if I could collect.
They messages back saying it would be fine and we arranged a time.

So, as things stand there is an unpaid invoice with a postage element but I will be paying cash with no postage.

If the seller simply marks the item as paid once I've collected will they pay 10% of the postage on the invoice in fees?

Yes, but they should be able to amend it before hand.

Do you mean send another invoice with zero postage?

Yes, either with zero p&p or if unable to change p&p amount, putting the actual cost of stated p&p as a discount in the box where sellers can add discounts or add ons.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

AFAIK the FVFs is paid on the first invoice- that's why business sellers in particular are annoyed that the system doesn't adjust if a revised invoice is sent.

I thought you could add a new post option so buyer could select. I don't know how the fvf is calculated though. Knowing Ebay though the common sense option is probably not available;)

I'm only going by the grumblings on the community board- I would be interested to know though if anyone has changed an invoice recently and can go and check their invoice. A definite answer would be nice.

I think I am guilty of always assuming the worse when it comes to ebay and fees :o
