where to start trying to reclaim ppi

Hi, I'm new to forums but have been thinking about trying to find out if I have ever been mis sold ppi. In the past, starting 20 years ago, I have had various loans and overdrafts with Lloyds and later Lloyds/tsb. Very often i was charged bank charges for exceeding my overdraft limit too. All of which has now been paid off except for credit cards which are still outstanding. The bank account is still open although no longer used. How do go about finding out if I have ever been charged ppi on any of these? I've also been self employed for the past 10 years and own my own home (mortgaged) dont know if this will make any difference?

if they can't tell you because your accounts are too old, you'll have to send a SAR and £10.
Nearly everyone gets charged for exceeding their limit, the chances of you claiming those monies back are slim to non-existent.
