Sćottish Power Emails

I am currently on an online tariff and submit my energy readings on line when receive an email from Scottish Power.

I realised today that I have not submitted readings lately and would do so.

When looking, I haven't entered any readings since beginning of September - they were therefore due in December. I have received no reminder for the readings, and it appears that a bill was prepared 27 January which I wasn't Advised of. If an email had been generated it would have been listed in 'my messages' on the website.

I phoned Customer Services who advised me that emails were no longer being sent out. I have escalated to their Customer Care dept (complaints, I hope). I believe that this was part of the 'deal' I signed up to.

Has anyone else had email problems or are you still receiving them from Scottish Power. ??

Hi,and welcome to this fabulous site.

Yes i noticed that they no longer sent emails last year, when i received an estimated bill. But if you get a bill,or even if you don't, you can still input your readings online, which at least keeps things up to date.

My Mum joined them on my recommendation last year and when hers was due i input them and the bill was made up.However although my statement said they were due about now, when i went online to give them the readings they had already made up an estimated bill!! They are pretty clueless and there are many many complaints about them at the moment.

All is not lost though.Just input your readings ,say on the 1st of each month which i am now going to do,and that keeps you in the know about what you are using and how much in debit and credit you are.

They reckon it is all down to a new computer system.Well there is an answer to that. CHANGE IT!!
  • Hi, Thanks for that. I am assuming that it will be because of ' a new computer system'. I am quite happy to input my readings, My gripe is that if the system, which I have happily been using for over 2 years, changes then we should be told not left to find out. The advisor I spoke to , said that the system had been changed so that they could concentrate on Customer Service ???...??

My original terms and conditions (as well as their on line help pages) state that ' we will email you a reminder just before in case you forget' - now I call that Customer Service.

I would be interested to know how may 'estimated ' bills have been sent out since they stopped sending out emails!!

Exactly, what customer service? Yes they should definitely have warned no more emails, they could have put it on their website at the very least.

I bet they have been raking it in by overestimating!
