Do they reply to an appeal letter either way?

Do you receive a reply to confirm they have waived your fine?
I was given a PCN after I failed to display my pay and display ticket at a public carpark in newham. It was totally my fault, the ticket must have blown off the dash board just as I closed the door. When I returned to my car and saw the pcn and found my pay and display ticket on the floor I went to show the warden who was still doing his rounds in the carpark. I explained my error and I admitted I was in the wrong and I should have checked before I left that the p&d ticket was visible. He told me he couldn't cancel it himself, and it will be fine and they will void my fine but I just had to go through the appropriate route. He said he would make a note on file that I had spoken to him.
Anyway, I have written to their Warrington address, admitting it was my fault and it was the first time I have ever received a pcn, how I spoke to the warden etc etc.. The letter was received over a week ago on Jan 24th but I have not received a response saying whether I have been successful or not. Do I presume I have been successful?
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

these PPC,s normally take up to 35 days to process appeals
if its a private PPC and private land they may try and hoodwink you for the drivers details, but it sounds as if you have admitted being the driver
they should offer you a popla code if they are in the BPA, but I doubt they will cancel it, although there is always the outside chance I suppose
I would prepare for a refusal myself, within this month sometime0 -
Thanks very much for your reply... Ahhhh I didn't realise it could take as long as 35 days for a response.
Well I hope it is successful, the warden insisted it would be fine. I would not have wasted my time writing a letter otherwise! We'll see. Thanks again0 -
these people are economical with the truth !! they will say anything to get you off their backs, they have no powers of cancellation0

OP can you clarify exactly who issued the ticket please. Was this a council issued ticket, rather than a ticket from a private company?0 -
Council issued, it was issued by newham council0

OK in that case there are different rules. POPLA will not be applicable in your case as that is only for private tickets issued by BPA members.
As this is a Council ticket, it would be a good idea to post on Pepipoo who are experts on these matters.

Oh dear - you will get a rejection letter as everyone does at this stage from any Council unless they are having a funny 5 minutes! Please do post on pepipoo when you get your rejection letter (showing them a picture of it and of the PCN - both sides please!) as it is NOT 'game over' with a Council ticket when you get that expected knock-back. With pepipoo forum help, most people win at the later appeal stage or adjudication.
You simply need Bogsy's famous 'fluttering ticket' appeal wording next (ask on pepipoo).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
