OH not on Facebook but wants to join a facebook interest group.
She doesn't want any of the typical FB social aspects such as anyone tagging photos of her on nights out etc, no posting pictures of her latest batch of cookies and no friend requests will be sent out etc. In fact she wants to be on facebook but simply to lurk in the group (which I believe you have to be a member) for information and ideas.
I don't necessarily need to know specifically how to do it right now but for those 'in the know' - is the above possible without having to turn over all your private info to Mr Zuckerberg?

You do not have to put any personal information on facebook. It will ask you to but you don't have to enter any. Just go through all the privacy options and make sure evrything is set at the max privacy option. Go to the users page and hide everything you can to anyone but the user.I don't necessarily need to know specifically how to do it right now but for those 'in the know' - is the above possible without having to turn over all your private info to Mr Zuckerberg?0 -
Thanks, i'll have a look at the setup tonight with a different name.
I guess the best thing to do would be to setup a facebook-specific email account with hotmail/gmail.0
