Unable to find me at Credit Bureau???

Hi, i've just tried the MSE eligibility checker for Credit Cards and it states

'Sorry, we have been unable to find your details at the credit bureau, please check and try again.'

I have only recently opened a bank account and sent my details to the Election office to get on the electoral roll they said that my details would be on the updated register 17th Feb. is this why i cant be found?

How long will it be before my details become available?

I want to use the checker to check my chances but i was a bit shocked for it to not find any details for me.

Anyone got any advice?

    If your not showing on the electoral roll then little chance.

    How long will it take depends on when they update the register. Usually monthly. But no fixed date. Maybe a set date for each region?

    If they update the register on the 17th it maybe another month or so before your credit file gets updated with it.

    This is a link as an example of how the electoral roll is updated during the year (the monthly section is last years but will give you an idea). http://www.chichester.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=3961 (it is the same for all councils).

    The annual canvas update this year is 14 Feb so you shouldbe on the register from then.

    After the council have updated the register it typically takes 4-6weeks more for this to be updated at the credit reference agencies.

  • I was going to ask a similar question, however, we're on the electoral role as we were sent voting slips last year and yet it still says it can't find us

    This sometimes happens due to a slight address mismatch. Check that the way you write your address is the same format as the address the council uses.
    You could also try applying for your callcredit file under their noddle brand (free). If you can get a report from them with your data on then you should be able to use the pre-application checker.

    Wouldn't surprise me if the address was wrong, we're a fairly new build (2011) and even our mortgage documents were wrong for six months! Thank you
