Leaking door seal
My 08 Skoda Fabia has a leaky door seal on the drivers side - a known problem according to google bods.
I have been quoted £168.00 to replace it which seems a bit steep - can this be done easily as a DIY, or is that too risky?. I am concerned wet getting into the electrics, and haming the electric windows.
Thanks in advance.

Have a look (and maybe an ask) on briskoda.net helpful bunch. Should know the answer! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0

Any cars I've replaced door seals on it is just a case of pull off the old one and push the new one on, takes 5 minutes and no tools.
Try GENTLY pulling off a bit of the old seal to see how it fits and if you think you could replace it. Then just go buy the door seal and get into it.
Final tip - warm seals are sometimes easier to work with than cold ones in this weather.Would you say that to a stranger's face in the street? No? Then why type it on a forum?0 -

It's not the door aperture seal that's leaking, it's the foam seal between the door ancilliaries carrier and the door that leaks. The carrier will be rivetted to the door, ideally it'll need removing, drying out and sealing, which can take a couple of hours, which is where the price comes from. You could remove the interior door trim and attempt to seal the carrier whilst it's still attached.
It's a similar system as used on the MK 1 Fabia, as mentioned Briskoda will have all the information.0
