did not complete BT application, will there still be a credit check

Did a Natwest CC application online this morning, but before i agreed to anything and proceeding I saw the Credit Limit they were going to offer and i declined to proceed with the application.
Will they still do a credit check and will this leave a marker on my credit report?
If i did another application today would that be problematic? as through the SS at NW i think i would take that (i know its not guaranteed).
no credit applications in a year so, would that benefit my application at NW

If they knew the credit limit they were going to give you, then they must have already done a credit check, how else would they have worked it out.0

Thank you for your comments. Isn't also possible that they may have gave me a pre-agreement quote similar to the NW soft search guide where they give a you a not guaranteed credit limit until full completion of the application?
Maybe i will wait a month and then do the NW one. i should be getting a increased salary aswell so that should also help.0 -

No Natwest would've done a full credit search hence how they come to your credit limit, Nationwide is a quote which is in writing on the application page."You know when it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold"0 -
NW means Natwest, right....?0

No, it means Nationwide. Natwest dont do soft searches afaik.
there are a few credit cards that do a soft search, but they only usually give you an idea if you will be accepted, not the kind of limit you would expect to get, you dont get that until you do a full search.
however, a single credit search (assuming there aren't any others previously) will not make much difference at all, if any.
as long as you dont have a lot in a small space of a time0 -

no it wont, it'll only show a search. It doesn't state if it was accepted or declined0
