I've done this a million times but not for a while.
DVD Recorder is AV2. When I go to AV2 I get dark screen and no picture of intended Sky recording.
Connections all checked at the back etc. DVD player plays back fine on AV2.
What am I missing here? I've been patient and waited till DVD+RW disk has formatted but I'm only assuming this has happened because I can't see anything. No error code on DVD recorder either.
Thanks in advance.
Edit. Sky recording is at View status not Recorded so it's not that.

What connectors are you using, and what channel are you trying to record? Do you get a picture if you try changing Sky channel while your TV is on AV2, or do you get no screen at all?0
-
you need the dvd player to be set to the right channel for the sky box to come through it... THEN the tv set to the correct channel for the dvd player
you do have the skybox and dvd connected together via scart lead, don't you?

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
You've connected the DVD recorder to AV2 on the TV, and are using that to play back DVDs? Can you play back a commercial DVD to prove this connection is working?
Once that is proved, how have you connected the Sky Box to the DVD recorder? If the Sky Box is connected to one of the DVD recorder's AV inputs, have you selected this input to record from ?0 -
Thanks for replies so far.
DVD plays back fine on AV2 which makes me think that DVD is ok - as mentioned it has worked previously many times with the sky box connected to DVD by scart.
But come to think of it, I'm sure I did a planner rebuild on the Sky box, could this have affected anything?
Also, how do I choose which input to record from? (I'm presuming this is unrelated to AV2 which works ....)0 -
I presume AV2 is the name of the scart socket on the TV. This will just be the tv channel you require to view the dvd player and is unrelated to the recording.
you say the sky box is connected to the dvd player by scart. What does the scart socket called on the dvd player?
You need to use the dvd remote to change the input on the dvd to whatever the scart socket is called on the dvd player.0 -
Thanks, try again tonight.0

Ok, I'm a step forward in that I have selected the correct channel via the DVD remote and can now see the program I want to record. But -
I'm getting the dreaded c13:00 error (cannot play this disc) with 3 different types of DVD-R. Playback of a pre-recorded dvd is fine. Any ideas? Can I reset diagnostics?0 -
All fixed. Thanks for replies. Found a sealed DVD-R and worked a treat. Guess I must have got a pile of CD-Rs mixed up with DVDs above hence error code.0
