Passport UK

That sounds strange.
How did you find this website in the first place?
I googled 'passport renewal' and clicked on 'passports-uk.co. uk' (is this the one you used?) and it took me to the home page where it says this:
Going direct to the application page was something that happened some time ago with these websites but I thought they'd been changed so you went to the home page with the disclaimer.
I would also report it to OFT via CAB - the link is in my post #5.
Hi Pollycat,
One of the passports I had to renew was my daughters. As she currently holds a child passport which needed to be renewed as an adults, I had been "googling" what I had to do. I do remember once I found out this information, I typed in something like "online passport application" (not sure of the exact wording), which bought up a number of hits. When I clicked on the now infamous passport uk site, it took me straight to the application page and not the homepage. It was only a week or so later, when after not having any response from the said site and the penny dropped, that I actually typed in passport uk, which did take me too there homepage.0 -
Pieguts, we are not thick, maybe too trustworthy!! Fortunately passport UK did not hinder my "official" application as I have now received my passport. I too am putting this down to experience (even if an expensive one!). Have applied for a chargeback but not heard anything yet, not holding my breath anymore0

I think you have a fairly strong case for a chargeback. After waiting a reasonable period (2 weeks or whatever), and being unable to contact anyone in the company, you assumed the forms were not going to arrive and obtained them from the Post Office instead. If they had sent you the forms in the time promised, you would have a much weaker case.
If your bank isn't helpful about the chargeback, and you want to stick to your guns, you could go through their complaints procedure, then to the Financial Ombudsman if necessary.
Or if that's too stressful, you could just chalk it up to experience.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

did you do as I suggested a week ago:However, in your circumstances it's worth a try contacting your bank.
Make it clear that the reason you're requesting a chargeback is because they have not delivered the service they promised - not because you feel you've been scammed.
Have you also reported this website to OFT via CAB if you feel it is misleading?0
