You cant claim. However, you can nicely ask them to refund your payments due to your error. In most cases, the two providers will correspond with each other and agree to pay an amount.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I have just received a letter from Lloyds bank today stating" that in cases of dual insurance,it's usual for each insurer to provide 50% refund of the premiums you have paid to them during any period of dual insurance,up to a maximum of three years".I have been told I can get a refund for 12 years, where do I stand ?0

You dont stand anywhere as they are not obliged to refund anything, especially as they have not made any error. In your case they are willing to refund 50% for last 3 years. As its your fault I think this is the best you are going to get.I have just received a letter from Lloyds bank today stating" that in cases of dual insurance,it's usual for each insurer to provide 50% refund of the premiums you have paid to them during any period of dual insurance,up to a maximum of three years".I have been told I can get a refund for 12 years, where do I stand ?0
