CPP Reclaim

Hi Everyone.
Hope you can help. I was contacted by CPP regarding the misselling and repayment of fees.
I phoned them today and they told me I had a policy from 1998 - 2011. However, they are only responsible for the period of 2005 - 2011 and they will send me a claim form at the end of this month.
Apparently, I have to contact RBS regarding 1998 - 2011. I have never had an account with RBS. They mentioned a Mint Card, however I don't remember ever having this, albeit it was a long time ago.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should progress this please as CPP could not give me any more details.
Many thanks.

sorry, not a helpful response here, but I am interested to see if you get any replies- my husband has had a CPP letter too, with no idea what account it relates to. We are unsure what to do next as well.

If it came direct from CPP, the claim forms will be sent out at the end of this month. You will get one automatically.
What I am not sure about is the period before 2005.Completely debt free....including Mortgage.0 -
Had same problem. Phoned cpp - their number is on the letter they send out. Very helpful guy told me I had a the policy with Santander from 1994. Asked what could I do about the period pre 2005. He gave me a phone number for Santander told me to ring them and quote the policy number (it's on the cpp letter) in order to register my complaint for mis-selling for the pre 2005 period. Phoned Santander as advised, again very helpful, they have registered my complaint and will give a final decision within 8 weeks. All done on phone within about 5 minutes. I got the impression that cpp have got contact telephone numbers for all the financial institutions involved so suggest you go back to them and they can give you the relevant number at RBS. Good luck.0

Thanks for this. I did ask for contact details when I spoke to them, but they said they didn't have them.
I will try again tomorrow. If you don't mind me asking, can you remember having the Santander account pre 2005? It's just that when they mentioned a mint card to me, it meant nothing to me.Completely debt free....including Mortgage.0 -
Hi,
I had no recollection at all of Santander but it became apparent when I rang them that it was in relation to a credit card. The credit card concerned was originally taken out by me with Bank of Scotland I think, then apparently that was taken over by Santander (which is when this policy began), now it's MBNA! The guy at CPP said payment taken every year since 1994. Pretty sure if CPP say you have been paying since 2008 they're likely to be right so if I was you I'd definitely contact RBS to register a mis-selling complaint.0 -
So....the saga continues. I phoned CPP today and they told me they cannot give me details over the phone for my policy before pre 2005. They are however going to look into it and write to me within the next 7 - 10 days with the relevant details.
The claim forms coming directly from CPP will be sent out between 10th and 26th February. They will be sending them in batches.
I will diary this for ten 10days and if I have not heard anything, I will be chasing them again.
Again, if anyone has any words of wisdom, please help.Completely debt free....including Mortgage.0 -
p.s. Have just phoned RBS and the details they gave me to make a claim were the telephone number I used to phone CPP direct!?!?!?
Think I will just have to wait and see if the information they promised is sent to me in the post!Completely debt free....including Mortgage.0
