Can anyone Help me?!?

Hello

I switched from EDF to NPower in September 2013 and paid a final bill from EDF Energy more than 2 months ago. I have received another "Final Bill" from EDF which is just for my gas as apparently Npower hadn't switched my Gas until January, when my electricity was transferred 2 months ago!

From the end of September my Gas prices moved from the Blue price promise to their standard tariff, meaning that because Npower have delayed the transfer for so long, I have am now being charged a much higher rate for my gas and have been told I have to pay it! The bill has come to over £240!!

Is there anything I can do to prove that Npower are liable for this and have "forced" me to pay a higher cost when they didn't transfer me when they should have?

Please help!

    Hi shambles_online,

Thanks for choosing npower as your energy provider. Changing energy supplier usually takes between 4-6 weeks to complete, however in some cases this timescale may vary if there has been other factors involved (such as an objection to the transfer).

If you can email me your details using the address from my profile page I'll be happy to see why there was a delay in your gas supply coming across to us, and if there is anything we can do to help with your final energy charges from EDF.

    Thanks

    Leigh :)

  • Waste of time emailing npower. You'll get no help at all from their customer "service" dept. I didn't. I tried to transfer dual fuel in October 13 and am still left with gas coming from BG. Again at higher rate. I registered a formal complaint and still nothing. Off to the Ombudsman tomorrow, but the only answer will be to wait for eventual transfer and then do one more transfer - AWAY. And I won't be using mse this time either.
