Scottish Power not taken DD
Hello,
I pay my electricity bill by monthly direct debit, usually on the 1st of the month.
I've noticed today that Scottish Power haven't taken payment. Do I need to contact them or will it sort itself out?
I've been with then for 18 months without any problems. I had sufficient funds etc.

I have noticed that usually the payemnt shows up on the 2nd of each month.So with the 1st and 2nd falling at the weekend(and it shows in my bank as having been taken today)i am sure it will show up on your account tomorrow.
Lucky you having had no problems.There are far too many that have !! i have had a few, nothing too serious but annoying nevertheless.0 -
They should have taken my DD on January 24th and have not, I messaged them today to query it ?0

You'll have a long wait,they are usually quite bad at replying.My Mum's dd went out ok on the 27th,have you checked with the bank?0

I'd tell them. After we changed tariff with them in October they didn't take the payment due on 1st Nov, Dec or January despite me ringing them in Nov and Dec and them assuring me it would be taken the following month. In January I decided life was too short to spend another hour on the phone so I emailed them and got a reply telling me to pay it via their online link!!!
I paid the 1st month but put the 2nd 2 payments into my savings account until the next bill is due then I'll pay them. The debit was actually taken this month -Feb!!!
They did tell me that if the debit hasn't been taken on the due day it won't be taken and won't be doubled up the next month and it wasn't.
They're just utterly useless!!!0 -
I changed to a new product on Jan 12th and DD went out on Jan 15th as usual. Noticed that my DD hasn't been taken on the 15th Feb though.
Fell of my chair when I contacted SP on thier 0800 number to be told that the queue time was 1hr 34mins to 2 Hrs 22 mins.
I'm a bit nervous about sending a one off payment to them to cover the missed DD as have no confidence it will get there!
I've also been experiencing major issues with bill generation on my account since changing product and will only generate a bill after I supplied readings. SP have told me that they are no longer send out email reminders/requests for meter readings.
If I hadn't entered into a new product I'd be inclined to move to another provider.0
