Humax box on it's way out?

I've got a Humax HDR-FOX T2 500GB box, bought it several years ago and it's never given me a moment's problem. Until this past week that is. Now, whenever I switch it on I get flickering green screen which is resolved by turning it off and then immediately on again. Once on it operates as usual.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is it likely the box is on it's way out? Hope not as I've got 450GB of recorded material on it!

Whatever it is, it doesn't sound like drive failure, so your data should still be intact. Sounds more like a failing LCD display.

Is it the tv screen flickering green?. If it is check the connections.

Check whether the output format on the box and the input format on the TV have maybe changed so they don't match.

Yes, the screen is green and flickering with black horizontal lines. It happens every time I switch box and TV on now but switching box off and immediately back on resolves it instantly. Weird!
