I am sure there is another thread on this somewhere but I can't find it..

Why is the font different on the Magazine Dailies than on other regular threads?

The bold capitals is a killer on the eyes for me

No disrespect to Toniq who is doing a fantastic job :T

I've got lots on at the moment as i haven't comped yet and need to sort baby out, being on crutches makes life harder chasing her! But if you leave me how you want it here i'll get it done when I get a moment.

The fonts used in those other threads work for them, not me as I want the answer next to link so it's easier for people to enter and tidier as a whole

Is it any wonder that people scared to post anything on the boards lately? There have been so many posts lately from people who are apologising for posting a question before they've even asked it, or asking people to 'be gentle' because they've dared to ask a question or venture an opinion, it's very sad to see.

    absolutely agree.

i cant help but wonder [and this is not a criticism] why the thread needs to be in a different font. i mean if people have trouble reading the regular mse font then how do they manage with the rest of the board? jst seems like more work for toniq. and you will never please everyone
there are add on features to change fonts to whatever you like. i use one in chrome so every page i look at on the web is in the same font

Sorry snakepilsen it was me that misunderstood. ;)

Your right they are not bold capitals, they are just a bold different font, I suppose it it like anything once you get used to the different size and the different font it will be OK :)

What comes across on the page is not always what the poster may intend, as has often been mentioned on these boards.

Yes, the OP thanked toniq but on the page it (to me) looked like an afterthought.

I do appreciate that different fonts can cause problems for people - but using the 'mad' icon is (to me) aggressive.

The discussion on how the daily mags were to be managed has already caused some strong feeling on this board and toniq was kind enough to step in and offer to organise them - did the OP totally miss those discussions?

This is not a new poster and her post, as it appeared to me on the written page, was very far from timid.

My opinion rests - but as long as the person who is actually doing the work is happy with this thread, I shall refrain from further comment:o

Fonts are a very personal thing and you will never please everybody (don't get me started on comic sans!). The font here has been chosen by Toni who is doing all the work and asked for feedback ahead of time. It is perfectly legible and if it is too small that is easily remedied on your own screen to personal preference.

I toally agree the written word can be taken the wrong way, you might read something if your in a grumpy mood and it reads bad and read it again an hour later when your in a happy and it means something different...you thought my post was not timid, I thought it was very polite ;)

I have just realised the red smiley is mad, I thought it was just grumpy, I was certainly not mad about the new font

I would rather have 100 mad faces than be yelled at in shouty capitals as that is aggressive.

I asked a question, I got a reply, I read the thread...end of subject in my opinion :)
