DLA payments and savings while on Income Support

Have just been awarded DLA therefore a lump sum has been paid into my account. Am i right in saying that this payment will be added to my savings where the limit is £6000 before my income support gets affected?
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

If it is awarded due to an appeal it is ignored for a year.

It's ignored for 52 weeks. it doesn't have to have been arrears after an appeal.

Depending on which DLA you have been awarded, you may be able to get a car. If you get high rate mobility awarded for over 3 years you can get a car, it uses the benefit (but you have not got used to having it yet) but it is brand new, insured and serviced.

This is NOT accurate. You only have to be awarded HRM for 1 year to qualify for a mobility car!
