XBOX 360 loss of items online

Options
My 12 year old son has spent christmas money approx 60.00 on buying an ultimate team on xbox 360, rightly or wrongly.....that isnt the issue. The money has been paid via a credit card. The day after his most recent purchase his whole team disappeared never to be seen again. Microsoft arent interested but they ve taken payment and they are responsible for xbox live. They state EA responsible. Ea have, after 2 weeks, credit his account with 6500 coins, the equivalent of £1.50. And they have given security advise. NO other comment has been made.

Surely you cant just buy something ....all that money.....for what you ve bought to disappear the following day. Any ideas what I can do now.

Ask him if he has been chatting to someone online who offered him gold cards or legends cards and they have maybe ripped him off?

Well that depends on the reason.
Why are they offering security advice?
  • HI, no he hasnt been speaking to anyone online, nothing out of ordinary had happened, He d just come off and then went back on and team had gone.

Security advise offered as they presume account has been hacked, though they ve never said that. I ve just read it online.

he hasn't swapped from fifa 13 to 14 has he?
  • he has changed from 13 to 14 when it 1st came out in september.

if it was hacked, all the security measures have been followed with passwords etc, means everything on the xbox live is vulnerable to hacking. No point anyone ever purchasing anything as it could be taken

No, not at all it's not xbox live you have to worry about its EA and their crappy Origin account that you have to use to play FIFA.

Your son will have registered for that just by playing the game, he'll need an Origin account and that is, more likely, what has been hacked or if you don't like the sound of that word, compromised.

Just google Origin account hacked and see. I'm really sorry but it doesn't just disappear.

I'm sure he's a lovely lad but if he's been playing online against people on xbox live and someone's sent him a message saying 'here do you want an all gold team I can help you out all you need to do is send me your EA sports login and I'll sort it trust me' he wouldn't be the only person to get ripped off.

Has the xbox become disconnected from the ea servers? My son plays fifa on both xbox and tablet and when the device disconnects from ea server it will show as everything has gone and the rank will be 1 again.
Just check think its in top right corner about being disconnected from ea servers. I must have had to go through the password recovery process about 20 times now with the rubbish origins account dont know why.

Yeah, another example of how crappy Origin accounts are.

Yeah, I got hacked couple of years ago and had all my MS points rinsed. Got them back after speaking with Microsoft several times but they were insistent that I'd "inadvertently" given my details to someone and it was my fault. I can categorically state with 100% conviction that I hadn't as I game solely on my own as a single player (never play online multiplayer stuff) and there is only me who uses the console. I'm convinced I got done shortly after playing a game called mass effect 2 where I had to create an EA origin account to download some additional content and I'd used the same login details/password as I had for my xbox. Fortunately for me, no credit cards were linked to the account so I didn't have that to sort too.
