Good morning
Been waiting (in vain so it seems) since the 17th December for PC World to deliver an ipad retina - not an Air. It was a bargain price and I was happy to wait a few weeks, as they keep saying that they are waiting for a delivery direct from Apple. Of course during this time they have had hold of my money. Question - are Apple still making this model for the UK market or are they just stringing me a (very) long line?

Email them and demand a delivery date, as at more than 28 days they are probably in breach of contract. My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Thanks for the replies.
I contacted Apple directly who confirmed they don't sell them anymore. I take from that they aren't making them anymore either.
Husband has rung PC World and they initially said cancel or buy something else (!). Mutterings about the small claims court has resulted in an offer of 10% off an ipad air equivalent, which is ok I guess, but their one year warranty against John Lewis' 2 year guarantee makes me think it's not worth that much. We'll be having a serious think about this over the next few days and make a decision then.

I am in EXACTLY the same position as you. Order Ipad Retina on 17th December, paid immediately and had nothing but excuses as to where my item is. It's gone from we are waiting for stock to we made an error and didn't have stock. They eventually cancel my order at the end of Jan but I am still for my refund!!
My understanding is that this has happened to a lot of people. They must be earning a lot of interest and been able to publish good sales figures for over Christmas (even though those sales were never going to happen).
Apparently Apple stop making the product in October 2013!
Currys have offered nothing in compensation (not even for lost interest). Think Small Claims is the answer under Loss Of Bargain.0 -

Lose of interest?
Do you know what the interest rates are?
Naff all equals naff all compensation.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
The interest rate I receive on my money is not naff all!
Surely businesses know their stock levels and communicate with their suppliers.0
