  • Morning all
I'm late posting today, I slept 10 hours last night & stayed in bed a while to take advantage of the morning glory!
I collected DD's pup & tried to walk her, but she was hysterical, went bananas at every dog, cat, bird, car, & man in yellow trousers. She's ok indoors but outside seems to feel I need protection, I'm not sure what to do with her, she's nearly 3 & a rescue who hadn't been outside before DD took her. DD is struggling to walk her as she isn't well, SIL doesn't see the need as his parents always have dogs & never walk them.
She was a bit nervous of hubby to start with as she's not seen much of him, but soon got used to him & followed him round the garden.
DW & WM have been on, washing's on the line DW's been emptied & now it's time I got on with some ironing.
    Have a good day
    Hugs Hester

  • Afternoon all, late posting today .
    Hilstep hugs xx
Have found myself home alone unexpectedly today as dh has gone to visit his dad and DD has shot to mk with friends so the roast beef dinner is on hold until whenever, I will just make something quick for me later. Fish tank has been cleaned and ironing is calling. Yesterday I had a baking day and made cinnamon rolls, bread rolls, and crumpets for the week.
Have to admit I hate being home alone but I think its cause it has been happening a lot lately.
Anyhoo mustn't dwell on it , just gotta get on .
    Hugs to all xx
    Bright Blessings xx

Donny - Thanks for your suggestions, a friend has the laptop at the moment as he thinks he can do something with it. I was quite happy using DS2s as he is away travelling but it had a bit of a fit and stopped working too! Anyway, it has up-dated itself and thankfully seems to be ok now. I will hang fire with buying a new one till I see if the old one can be fixed.

Hugs to you and your family, especially DH Hilstep, what a horrible time for you.

HH, maybe pup needs to feel safe in the garden until it's ready to go a little further. Short and regular walks may help but I'm sure LW will be able to give guidance.

Just finished sanding one of the kitchen chairs, it takes ages because of the sort of all the spindles, etc but will give it a coat of varnish in a moment. Only 3 more to do!

It was wet and windy here but the sun is shining at the moment, not sure how long it will last though.

Have a good Sunday, take care. XX

Hilstep I agree with you 100% regarding euthanasia. It is heartbreaking to see a loved one suffering so, when they are more than ready for their journey to the Summerlands. I hope your MiL's journey is peaceful when it finally happens.

Hester how big a garden have you? Would in be possible to do "walkies" in the garden at all? I've done this before now; particularly when we had Max here and we had snow, so I couldn't use the mobility buggy; I also give Cassie and Bailey most of their exercise in the garden (they love chasing a tennis ball). If you can get her walking nicely within the confines of the garden, it might be easier then to progress to further afield.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Good afternoon all,
Beautiful sunshine today, so nice to see it.
Hilstep, thinking of you all x
Have done the rest of the ironing. House is tidy. Will be getting the beef in the oven shortly, it's only a small piece. Not eating until about 5.15 ish as hubby is in bed, he has work tonight.
Been an expensive weekend. Jasper has got a bacterial infection so that was a trip to the vets yesterday. We got dd a car today. Hubby has got to arrange when he can go and pick it up. Dd knows that we are going to be buying her a car but she doesn't know that we have got one. It will be a surprise for her.
I hope everyone has a good rest of the day and hugs to those who need them.

  • Would you credit it, DD just got a job yesterday and now she has been offered another one that she had an interview for.
Both jobs are only part time minimum wage jobs, but at least it is something.

DH defrosted the upright freezer today, it was really badly iced up, so I am glad it is done .
Did two loads of washing and both lots dried on the line :)

Dinner is Lamb, roasties, parsnips, carrots, lots of Brussels and Yorkshire puds nom nom nom and it is DS's turn to wash up tonight so I am going to watch some of the DVD's that I got for Christmas, TV is rubbish as usual tonight apart from the musketeers which I will record on the sky box.

Right must go and check if the potatoes and parsnips are done.
