Glad you kept safe and warm today, the weather looked horrendous with the wind and rain. Not too bad up here (home counties), blustery all day, torrential rain first thing but then light showers on and off.
 Aww, your poor chooks
I hope you get the CC credit sorted, what a pain.

I'm in the southwest so its been pretty bad, I nearly got blow over last night when I left work and the rain was horizontal, I am lucky that I am not by the coast and live at the top of a hill so the chance of flooding is low for me, but where some of my friends live its awful and its comng back at the weekend apparently, time to batten down the hatches I think:(Always have too much month for my money

            Hi chicken,
great news on the NSDs we're only a few days into February why not join the challenge now? It's a really friendly thread. we're only a few days into February why not join the challenge now? It's a really friendly thread.
Try to see the cards as a positive, you're obviously doing something right to be offered these deals. Every step in the right direction is a step closer to debt freedom and those little steps soon add up.
coincidentally I'm off to Devon tomorrow! I have friends who live on the North coast. I understand it's not as bad there. These are the friends I was visiting when I broke my leg, until you mentioned the south I was thinking you possibly looked after me! I had the surgery in Barnstaple. Thankfully I'm not going for the beaches we'll be holed up in the house and then the pub
You have such a positive attitude, I have no doubt that you will succeed. It's great that your DD is embracing the situation too. My teens are 15 and 16 and they are helping out loads. I hated explaining the situation to them but they appear to be learning from my mistakes and DS (like your DD) is always willing to have a shot at using up the last bits of the food we have in I've come to the conclusion that giving them my time and attention is far more precious than cash, it seems to have brought us all much closer. Keep going, embrace every day that you don't increase the debt as a success and stay safe.

Well yesterday I had another busy day at work but it was a NSD so that was good
Today I had a nice surprise, I had budgeted £139 for my Gas/Electric bill this month because that was how much it was last month, but I remembered to read my meter this month and my bill was £89 :jSo I have spare cash which I am either going to put towards the Argos card or wait and put it towards the first payment on the new card that I have transferred my balances onto. It was lovely to see both cards cleared even though the debt has only been moved, it gave me a taste of what its going to feel like when I am debt free
I went to my mums today to get my hair cut, my neice is a hairdresser so she does my hair for £10 and I didn't pay today because mum treated me:) I then went into town because I needed cat food and milk plus some bedding for the chooks. I got home just in time to miss the first downpour of the day and have spent the afternoon sorting the house out and knitting, I am now sittig here waiting for the storm that has been forcast to do its thing
I am working tomorrow so I have cooked a jacket potatoe to take for my lunch ,hopefully it won't be too mad:)Always have too much month for my money

Hi Kate, hope you made it down to Devon in one piece, I live and work in Exeter but funnily enough I was in Barnstaple last week, what a small world:)
My DD is 26 and doesn't know that I have these debts, I haven't told her because I can't stand the thought of the lecture I might get , plus I ran some of it up on xmas pressies and she went on and on at me before xmas not to spend money on pressies for her ,but I led her to believe I could afford what I had bought and I know she will feel really guilty if she finds out that I overspent, soooo for now I am keeping it to myself, she is just naturally scrooge like after going to uni so she is used to making meals out of all sorts of weird ingredients and she also hates waste, so at least she hasn't picked up my bad habits, I am learning from her though:rotfl: , plus I ran some of it up on xmas pressies and she went on and on at me before xmas not to spend money on pressies for her ,but I led her to believe I could afford what I had bought and I know she will feel really guilty if she finds out that I overspent, soooo for now I am keeping it to myself, she is just naturally scrooge like after going to uni so she is used to making meals out of all sorts of weird ingredients and she also hates waste, so at least she hasn't picked up my bad habits, I am learning from her though:rotfl:
Its funny you mentioned my positivity as I was feeling terrible before I faced up to my debt, as soon as I found this site and started being proactive I started to feel better. I then went and read some of the diaries and they inspired me to start my own so here I am, I am like a woman on a mission now:rotfl:

Good luck!! I've just done the moving card thing as well - so I know exActly what you mean when you say about how good it feels!!
I'm in Dorset so all your weather is making its way over to us as well, I've got friends in Dawlish, they said it's just mental. So so sad and a huge reminder of just how useless us humans are against nature...Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0

Another busy day at work today not made easy by me being in a lot of pain for most of the day, I was sooooo tempted to go to the shop for some chocolate to cheer me up but I kept making myself wait and before I knew it it was home time and too late:) So today was a NSD :j

A warm day spent indoors today due to the rain and wind, so lots of knitting was done and I had a NSD, Today I checked my bank account and realised I have enough money to pay off the Argos card now, so I have just paid it off :j:j
I also went through all my paperwork today and had a massive shredding session, it was very therapuetic. I now only have paperwork that relates to my current 0% card and the last two statements from the old one. I now feel very organised and in control of my finances:)
Next up is the big one and I have plans to tackle that over the next year so watch out debt I am ready to wipe you out Always have too much month for my money Always have too much month for my money
