You might have seen the Littlewoods / Great Universal sale.
I did. I ordered something. They sent me an order confirmation, and a delivery date. It came and went. I rang them up, several times, and eventually got through to a halfwit (I'm being generous. I estimate she'd have trouble finding two braincells to rub together to start a fire)
"Oh, yeah, we're not going to send that to you. We over-estimated our stock. We sent you a letter...."
Over-estimated your stock? What are they doing? Using an abacus?
Sent me a letter? Even though they've got my email address. And the delivery date was two days ago, so they didn't send it until after the delivery date. When did they know?
What a bunch of dishonest, scheming, thieving !!!!!!s.

Yes so far I've had orders for kids timberlands, kids cat boots, and basically anything branded cancelled..........to add insult to injury they even sent a letter today telling me a pack of socks is out of stock! Caught the delivery guy yesterday dropping off a parcel and opened it expecting some nice stuff and all there was was a crappy pack of polo shirts i ordered for DH for work but they're so minging they can have them back! I'd rather buy tesco value they're better quality and cheaper!Smokefree since 27-9-20070

debenhams have done this to me twice over once with some goose pilows in april and just a week ago with a duvet
in a nutshell, Debenhams accept your order, take the money from your bank account, send you an email to confirm the order, then sent an email to confirm delivery date, then sent a letter in the post to confirm delivery date (usually a month away), two days prior to delivery date, the money magically re-appears in your bank account and two days after the delivery date you recieve a letter telling you the order was cancelled but it gives no reason for the cancellation.
Debenhams - its an act difficult to beat - worst service so far and iv been buying on the net for 10 years now.0 -

I ordered about 15 items none of which will arrive0 -
I got all my sale items from Littlewoods Direct, even tho they are part of the same group the website system is alot newer so i beleive stock levels are in real time, whereas GU is not in realtime and is quite a few hours until it updates0

Sorry to annoy the rest of you but I received my order of 2 pairs of boots today. Absolutely fab.
On the downside, they didn't discount my £20 voucher even though it said it had when I placed the order, so wrote an email, just waiting a response and hopefully a credit now.0 -
Can we add choice catalogue to this discussion,i ordered 10 items from their sale but after 2 weeks with no delivery i tracked the order and found only 1 item showing but no info,it then took 4 days to get through to anyone to ask about it only to then be told that they hadent the stock so tuff. When i made the order they sent a confermation email to say the items were in stock and would be delivered as soon as,so can i argue that they still owe me the products at the reduced price when they get more stock in?0

Kays, Choice, Littlewoods, Great Universal. All part of the same group of deceitful weasels.0

Mind if I have a quick rant n all..
Placed order around 16th. Stated in stock. Got confirmation order thanking me for first order, and stating delivery time etc. Delivery date comes and goes. I email to enquire where order is. 3 days go by, no reply, send another, another 3 days send another. 2 days later set up my detail online with them so that can look at order history. (con me into third party emails without me clearly noticing) I access my new online account, and it proclaims "no order history" with us. Today I get an email responding to mine sent, saying the item was out of stock and that they had therefore cancelled the order for me.
WELL HOW BLOOMIN LOVELY OF THEM TO INFORM ME!! My point is I think they wait for you to ask where your order is to acutally bother letting you know they've cancelled. Had I not asked would they have bothered. Then this morning a big ol catalogue gets dropped off by a courier (the boyf opened door, I would've kindly handed it back!) Since I'm now an avid recycler, and not gonna be a customer, and it was from a third party source(so already passed on my details!) that just added fuel to my already burning fire!
Gripe over. Thanks. Needed that. (Sorry, prob not even the mse whinge section either am I?):o0
