Certainly nothing in the terms and conditions relating to gift vouchers.
Hi powerful_rouge,
Thanks for your reply. I hadn't noticed that page on their site. The requirement to tick a check-box to confirm knowledge of the expiry time on the gift certificate makes sense. It's frustrating that this information wasn't presented in the case of the offer made to me. I agree I can't find anything else in their terms and conditions regarding expiry times.0 -

Within the first 6 months the onus is on them to prove there is no inherent fault if they want to refuse one of those remedies. You also can't contract out your rights under the Sale of Goods Act so you are still due a remedy.
If you have any proof of what happened then write to them and remind them of their obligations.
I was offered a replacement so they are not at fault in this regard. However, because a few weeks had elapsed between returning the drill and receiving the call from them I had already purchased a replacement (I was in the middle of digging out our basement so needed a drill). I think they are probably entitled to offer a credit note rather than a refund in this instance. However, I still think I may try and pursue them further on the issue of the terms and conditions together with the information they provided me in writing as these lack references to expiry times.0
