Late item...now have item AND refund!

As above, really. An item with next day delivery was still missing after a few days; I asked the seller where it was; the item turned up the following day; I considered the matter closed and now, three weeks later, I've had a full refund!

How do I refund the refund (Paypal), as it were? I was mildly peeved at the late delivery, but I haven't earned the item for free! :o

Thank you.

Contact the seller, and assuming they still want to be paid, just send the money by Paypal.

Did you open a case? If so that might be how you ended up with a refund if you didn't close the case.

You'll need to contact the seller as you can't return a refund as far as I'm aware.

I guess I must have "opened a case", and since it wasn't signed for I had to be repaid? Have sent the seller the full amount. Still no contact, before or since, but a clearer conscience now. Thank you.

  • Similar (well, similar-ish) thing happened to me last year - not late, but not as described, cost was £20ish.

Seller agreed partial refund, but then failed to pay it, so I opened a case. Seller didn't respond to me or the case - ever again - so Ebay refunded - leaving me with both the SNAD item and the money.

After discussing it with Ebay I was advised to do nothing more, as the seller had had several chances to get it right.

Still feel uneasy about it though.
  • Something similar happened to me as a seller. I sold an item to someone in the Republic of Ireland. It took three months to arrive, by which time RM had long refunded me for non-delivery and I had refunded the buyer. She emailed me when the item finally arrived asking what to do. I left it up to her whether she refunded me and she never did.

If the seller cannot be bothered to contact you then it is their loss.
